Sergeant Murgia began his career as a patrol officer with the Tulelake Police Department in 2009. In addition to patrol duties, he was the impact weapons instructor for the Tulelake Police Department. In 2012 Sergeant Murgia transferred to the Red Bluff Police Department. Sergeant Murgia spent the next 5 years as the traffic officer, riding the Red Bluff Police Department motorcycle. Sergeant Murgia has held collateral duties such as Emergency Vehicle Operation instructor, the departments radar instructor, Field Training Officer and RBPD’s Field Training Coordinator. Sergeant Murgia is also been trained as a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Operator and a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).
