AVOID THE FIVE GOALS

The five officer Driving Under the Influence Special Enforcement and Prosecution Team (DUISEP Team) will meet once every month and target a pre-designated geographical area of the county for zero tolerance DUI detection and enforcement. The area of enforcement will rotate throughout the entire county, including: Red Bluff, Corning, Bowman area, Tehama-Los Molinos-Gerber and other more remote areas as needed. the main purpose of this activity will be to detect and arrest drunk drivers on the streets of Tehama County in an effort to reduce DUI traffic collisions and fatalities.

PUBLIC AWARENESS/EDUCATION

As part of the campaign against driving under the influence in Tehama County, the DUISEP Team will actively support community awareness on the hazards of driving under the influence.

"AVOID THE 5" POSTER An "Avoid the Five" poster will be made available in 2001 for public display a at schools and other community centers. The poster will focus on the hazards of driving under the influence and promote driver safety.

"AVOID THE 5" BUMPER STICKERS Bumper stickers will be available in 2001, also for public awareness of the program and to promote driver safety.

SOBER GRAD NIGHT/OTHER YOUTH EVENTS The DUISEP Team will work in conjunction with the California Highway Patrol and other public agencies on the local "Sober Grad" nights and other school functions.
